Dave designed a beautiful tour of the Basque Country and Cantabria for my husband and myself in the last week of October 2025. Dave knows Spain very well, having lived there for more than 25 years. Each day was extremely well planned, including the selection of very comfortable hotels and excellent restaurants. One of the highlights for us was a private tour of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, led by a very knowledgeable local guide. There is no way we could have planned such an interesting trip by ourselves. In addition to his exceptional planning skills, Dave is a warm person and easy to communicate with. He is completely fluent in Spanish and transitions easily between English and Spanish. It was a pleasure learning about a region of Spain new to us and we would welcome the opportunity to do another trip with him. If you're panning a trip to Spain, we highly recommend working with Dave!

Living in the U.S. planning a trip to Spain can be a daunting experience, especially if you don't know anyone who lives in the country. We reached out to Dave to help plan our trip, and he exceeded expectations. Dave provided outstanding detailed guidance including towns/cities to stay, important historic features to visit, restaurants and even dishes to order in the restaurants. Dave also set up a guided tour of the Alhambra Palace in Granada, which was one of the highlights of our trip! I would strongly recommend using Dave to plan a trip, he is a pleasure to work with and his expertise resulting from 25+ years of living in the country cannot be found elsewhere.

Dave worked with us to craft the trip of a lifetime. For two and a half weeks he guided us from Mallorca to Madrid, Granada and Cordoba. He deftly accommodated our wishes to travel via different modes of transportation. He coordinated a magnificent tour of the Alhambra, arranged a beautiful Flamenco experience and had endless recommendations for food options. His expertise is complete, he is an excellent communicator in Spanish and English. Dave's positivity and enthusiasm clearly convey that he loves his work! We would highly recommend him as a tour coordinator.

It was one of best trips I've ever had. This is first trip to Sapin. Spain By Dave was a perfect solution for my group which is 5 couples of high school fruends. Its tailored option enabled us to suit our own needs and expectations. David provided me ample informations that made me find the right solution. We opted out all service and just used land transportaions for day trip like Olvera - Setenil de las Bodegas - Ronda, Toledo as well as korean guide for Alhambra and Granada. It went well and the service of land transportation was excellent. The drivers were very kind and eager to help. We felt like they are pary of our group. Dave pays attention to details!!! Once he discovers your trip goals, he goes out of his way to achieve your goals! His knowledge of Spain is superior. He finds THE BEST guides and experiences that are off the beaten path and those that aren’t are given a fresh approach. Our hiking group of 10 women tested Dave on so many levels such as last minute changes, hiking accommodations, needing more shopping time, discovering new places not on our itinerary, plane cancellations, medical issues and he never wavered all the time with a smile and genuine desire to give us have the best Balearic experience possible! If you’re looking for that perfect trip with a guide that will go “above & beyond” to make sure this is the best trip you’ve ever had, call Dave Weber of Spain by Dave. We were a group of 8 women that were interested in hiking, shopping, exploring the Balearic islands, learning its history and culture, and having an extreme culinary and wine experience. No small order, for sure! But Dave did not let us down on any item! He supplied us with the most interesting and lovely hotels, the best hiking guides, the best history guides, and stupendous restaurants that should have been Michelin-starred!! And boy - Dave really knows how to pick his wines!!!! It truly was one of the most fabulous trips any of us have ever taken - and we are all quite seasoned travelers!!! Kudos to Dave from everyone in our group! We all feel we have gained a friend in the process!!

Dave did a wonderful job planning a two week trip to Mallorca and Menorca for our group of nine women! All details were well planned and implemented —we enjoyed fabulous hotels, great food, and lots of fun adventures. Our group enjoys outdoor activities—and Dave planned challenging hikes, biking, a day on a boat, and a kayaking excursion. We also enjoyed a cultural tour of Menorca. Dave also knew all the best places to shop—he also introduced us to some local Mallorcans who provided a special lunch on their farm. This trip was really wonderful thanks to Dave! I would highly recommend hiring Spain by Dave for a fabulous trip!

We had a wonderful four days with Dave. He took us to some beautiful little towns in Andalusia. He was extremely attentive to our needs and extraordinarily helpful, particularly with my husband who is disable. Would highly recommend him for organizing and recommending venues and is a superb driver!

We recently contracted with Spain by Dave for a 2 week trip around several parts of Spain. It was a great experience and Dave is perfect for what we needed. He helped us figure out the itinerary based on our needs, made hotel arrangements, rented and drove car (when needed), purchased tickets and had wonderful suggestions for experiencing the excellent, diverse cuisine. We spent over half of our time in Seville, Granada and exploring Andalucia. This is best explored by car and it was very helpful to have Dave accompany us. He also was with us in Madrid, where he also accompanied us to Toledo & to Segovia. He met us in Santiago de Compostela, where we were after spending 10 days in Portugal. We enjoyed our time thoroughly. Dave is knowledgeable, adventurous, and tells good stories. He also is very helpful with luggage at hotels or when traveling by train, air, etc. We also enjoyed meeting his lovely wife Pati and hearing about their life on Mallorca. We strongly recommend Spain by Dave for a custom, independent tour of Spain. In particular, he showcases the food and you will enjoy what the locals eat and where they like to eat. He creates an authentic experience.
